About this item

  • This fast-growing evergreen has rich blue-green foliage. It is heavily branched, spreading growth habit with dense coverage. Best performs as groundcover and for erosion control.
  • This easy-to-grow evergreen needs a regular water schedule to ensure the growth of a mature root system. After the mature root system is established, watering is needed occasionally, except during a drought, watering is needed regularly. Pruning to desired shape is recommended only at early stages of growth to encourage branching. Pruning older branches may not encourage new growth.
  • One of the best groundcover type junipers for providing an evergreen effect with very low maintenance. Particularly useful for erosion control in difficult areas. Full sun. Evergreen shrub.
  • Follow a regular watering schedule during the first growing season to establish a deep, extensive root system. As a groundcover, space plants 5 ft. apart, (closer for faster coverage). Control weeds with mulch until the plants cover the area.
  • Easily grown in average, medium moisture, well-drained soils in full sun. Tolerant of a wide variety of soils. Grows very well in sandy loams. Intolerant of wet soils. Tolerant of some drought once established. Also tolerant of many city air pollutants. Plants are dioecious.
